Ray Dennis Steckler' |  |
The incredibly strange Ray Dennis Steckler makes his first of several appearances in my Thrillville show at The Parkway Theater (now closed) in Oakland, CA, on August 4, 2000, with screenings of his classics "Rat Pfink a Boo," "Lemon Grove Kids Meet the Monsters," and "Blood Shack," honoring rockabilly legend Ron Haydock who appeared in several of Ray's films. Also on stage with Ray are actor Herb Robins, who starred in several of Ray's films, and "ReSearch" publisher V. Vale. I'm posting this video in tribute to my late friend Ray, who passed away on January 7, 2009. Cheers. www.thrillville.net |

My friend and famous indie filmmaker Ray Dennis Steckler's first of several appearances at the now sadly defunct Fine Arts Cinema in Berkeley, CA, with his friend Keith Wester, an award-winning sound engineer who worked on Ray's notorious "Rat Pfink a Boo Boo" (1966), which Will the Thrill (me) and Monica Tiki Goddess hosted that night for a special Thrillville tribute, along with another of Ray's classics, "Lemon Grove Kids Meets the Monsters" (1965). Sadly, Keith died soon after this show, and Ray left us for Cult Movie Heaven on January 7, 2009. I am posting this video, which he edited himself, in honor of his memory, as well as Keith and the Fine Arts Cinema. Cheers. www.thrillville.net |

Long before I became "Will the Thrill" and created Thrillville at The Parkway in 1997, I hosted annual Elvis B-Day (January 8) and D-Day (August 16) private parties at different locations around the East Bay, co-sponsored by 42 Inc. Computer Consulting of Berkeley, CA. This D-Day party, from August 16, 1994, took place in a Berkeley church, with special guests Anne Helm (my "stepmom"), Elvis's co-star in "Follow That Dream" (1962), and her daughter/my sister, Serena Viharo.
