So what I decided to do is incorporate free weight resistance and rubber band resistance into a hybrid workout. Now I have to admit, I did NOT create this type of training. Combining rubber bands and free weights has been done by powerlifters since the 1960's. The first man to make this style of training popular was Ernest F. Cottrell (a former powerlifter and professional writer in the field of bodybuilding, powerlifting, anatomy, physiology, and nutrition) when he introduced a dynamic concept that he called the "Jettison Technique". So all I'm doing here in this video is showing you how you can incorporate using the PT 24/7 Bands along with dumbbell training to add some variety into your workouts. And who knows, maybe Billy Blanks will make a new DVD based on adding dumbbells to his Tae Bo workouts for an action packed cardio / strength building workout session! |
